Bharti Airtel, the third largest telecommunications provider, introduced a Wi-Fi calling system to increase the voice calling experience indoors.
Airtel Wi-Fi Calling is currently available to all Delhi NCR customers and is compatible with the Airtel Xstream Fiber home broadband.
Wi-Fi Calling will allow Airtel customers to make Wi-Fi calls just like standard voice calls with excellent signal quality.
The facility will soon be available for all other broadband services and hotspots across other states in India. Airtel Wi-Fi Telephone calling facility can be used on all compatible phones simply by activating the Wi-Fi calling feature.
Airtel Wi-Fi Calling is expected to support all devices that have WiFi calling apps. As of now, only the following phones are compatible with Airtel’s new Wi-Fi calling service:
- Apple: iPhone XR, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro
- OnePlus 7 series: OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro
- Samsung: Samsung Galaxy J6, Samsung Galaxy On 6, Samsung Galaxy M30s, Samsung Galaxy A10s
- Xiaomi: Poco F2, Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro
You can check your smartphone compatibility On airtel.in/wifi-calling. Users will need to upgrade to the latest version of the device operating software that supports Wi-Fi Calling to enable service on their device. Keep in mind the VoLTE is turned on for an experience of smooth voice calling.
