How To Boot Windows 10 In Safe Mode?

Here are all the ways you can start Windows 10 in Safe Mode:

Method#1Safe Mode With Boot Manager

To access your system’s Boot Manager, during the boot process, please press the key combination Ctrl+F8. To start your PC, select the appropriate Safe Mode.

Method#2 Safe Mode Using Shift + Restart

  • Hold Shift key and click Restart.
  • Now click the option Troubleshoot and then select Advanced options.
  • Then go to Advanced options and click Start-up Settings.
  • Now under Start-up Settings click Restart and you will find various boot options are displayed.
  • Select the relevant options for booting in Safe Mode are the numbers 4,5 or 6.
  • Select an option by pressing one of the numbers or function keys F4, F5 or F6.

Method#3Safe Mode with Command Prompt

  • In the Windows 10 serach box type CMD and then right click and select Run as administrator.
  • Copy and Paste the following into the Command Prompt window and press the enter key.

bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy

  • You should now be able to enter Safe Mode when restarting Windows 10 by pressing [F8].
