The much awaited Motorola’s revival of the iconic Razr phone will be available to pre-order in the US starting on January 26, and it’ll be available to buy online and in stores in the US starting on February 6, the company announced on 22nd January.
The latest pre-order date is precisely one month after the originally scheduled 26th of December, which Motorola modified due to higher demand for the foldable smartphone than it had expected.
The 6.2-inch Flex View OLED display is the show’s star here, using a hinge mechanism which allows the phone to close flush perfectly like the original Razr would.
The back panel also has a Quick View touchscreen display that can be used to test and respond to alerts, take selfies, play music and use Google Assistant. This way, any time you want to do basic actions, you won’t have to flip the phone open.
US Razr prices are set at $1.499. Right steep for a Snapdragon 710 chipset handset, relatively single 16MP camera and 2,100 mAh battery. Then again the design alone is possibly sufficient to justify the price.
The Razr is going to launch for 24 months exclusively on Verizon in the US at a whopping $63 a month. Pre-orders will be available on January 26th via Verizon itself, at Amazon, and on the Motorola website.
Pre-orders have already begun in the UK, exclusively through EE at £ 99 per month with the included phone plan. Keep an eye out for this blast from the past starting on February 6th.
