Reliance-owned online grocery supply provider JioMart released its app for Android and iOS users alike. The launch of the app on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store came soon after RIL president Mukesh Ambani announced plans to expand the delivery service during the 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance.
JioMart services are currently available in over 200 cities in India and consumers can purchase products via payment options such as net banking, credit / debit cards, food sodexo, ROne loyalty points and cash on delivery (COD).
The Reliance JioMart app is an extension of the JioMart e-commerce website, where the company has a range of over 50,000 items in the categories of foodstuffs and daily needs. For the latest app, consumers can search and shop straight from their mobile.
The app is very user-friendly and comes with a top search bar from which one searches for the grocery object. There are different types, including fruits and vegetables, dairy and bakery, food, snacks, beverages, personal care, etc. There are already grocery products on sale in the app.
At AGM 2020, however, Mukesh Ambani said the platform would be extended to other categories including apparel, pharmaceutical, and healthcare. Once you place the first order on JioMart the company will include a complimentary COVID-19 pack.
JioMart provides 5% less than the MRP. So, with the launch of the app, JioMart will be hoping to give the established platforms like Amazon, Walmart-owned Flipkart, and BigBasket a tough competition.
