Samsung Extends Warranty on All Products Due to Pandemic Lockdown

Samsung gives extended warranties to all Indian customers whose warranty expires during the lockout of the coronavirus. The company extends the warranty to 31 May 2020 for all those affected.

In a press statement, “Samsung has announced that it has extended the standard warranty for all its products across its portfolio including smartphones, refrigerators, televisions, washing machines till May 31, 2020. This is going to be valid for products whose warranty would have expired in this lockdown period March 20-April 30 2020.”

In a tweet, the company said it is extending warranties to ensure customer well-being. COVID-19 has prompted the declaration of a lockout in India for 21 days. This has resulted in the suspension of non-essential services and mandating individuals to stay at home.

“The health and well-being of our customers, partners and employees is important to us. With the Indian government’s mandate to observe complete lockdown, we have shut operations across our service centers and customer call centers. We urge our customers to use our Live Chat facility to reach out to us with any queries on their products,” said a Samsung India spokesperson.

Samsung is also expanding the date of redemption of Galaxy S20 deals for pre-booked customers. It said customers who have pre-booked the Galaxy S20 will collect and activate their smartphone by April 30, 2020 instead of the 31 March 2020 preceding date.

It also said that pre-booked consumers who purchased the S20 devices on or before March 31st could redeem the Galaxy Buds+ deal by May 15th 2020.
