In the new update, after testing with beta users, WhatsApp is now available for all Android users with fingerprint unlock authentication. WhatsApp is the most used and popular messenger app on Android now.
The security feature of Fingerprint Lock is available for all Android users in whatsapp version 2.19.222, which was previously available for iOS users.
WhatsApp says: “Today we’re introducing similar authentication, allowing you to unlock the app with your fingerprint, on supported Android phones”.
WhatsApp hasn’t allowed face unlocking for Android users that is currently available in iOS. When activated, the function can stop other people from accessing WhatsApp or reading the messages like the fingerprint lock feature.
You should have updated the WhatsApp version 2.19.222 to and the fingerprint-registered Android phone for unlocking via the fingerprint sensor for the update to show fingerprint lock security option.
