YouTube Opens Original Shows for Free Streaming During Coronavirus Lockdown

During the coronavirus Lockdown, YouTube provides more than a dozen of their original shows for free streaming. The video sharing service provides access to more than a dozen originals from YouTube such as Escape The Night, Move Up: High Water, Matpat’s Game Lab, Impulse, Sherwood etc.

Otherwise these are only open to those who have a Paid subscription to YouTube. The free entry went to reside on Wednesday, April 8, and for a limited interval will remain in effect.

YouTube has not shared a specified date. Media streaming sites such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube have seen a significant traffic boost in the last month.

“With a diverse collection of fan-favourite YouTube originals now available to stream for free, we are continuing to promote safety while offering our users of all ages entertainment across the globe,” Susanne Daniels, YouTube’s world head of authentic content material informed Variety.

Here’s a list of all the free streaming originals shows from YouTube that were made available to everyone:

  • Escape the Night
  • Matpat’s Game Lab
  • Step Up: High Water
  • Impulse
  • Sherwood
  • Sideswiped
  • The Sidemen Show
  • Foursome
  • Me and My Grandma
  • F2 Finding Football
  • Overthinking with Kat & June
  • The Fake Show

The report said, in addition to the shows mentioned above, that YouTube also opened access to children and family originals such as ‘We Are Savvy,’ ‘Hyperlinked,’ ‘Fruit Ninja Frenzy Force’ and ‘Kings of Atlantis.’

Upon the lifting of the free plan, users would need to have the YouTube Premium subscription to access the content. The Premium Subscription is currently available in India for Rs. 129 a month.
